We now continue to spotlight the finalists for the Lima Allen County Chamber of Commerce's Small Business of the Year Gala. Tonight, we take a look at the Athena Leadership Award, sponsored by Lima Chevrolet Cadillac.
Lima Chevrolet Cadillac, with the help of several other local businesses, has filled about 100 backpacks with school supplies. Everything from tablets, folders, pencils, and glue can be found inside. It's a way that they can give back to the community.
The backpacks will be given away starting August 19th, 2021 through August 21st, 2021. Parents who need a backpack for their children will need to head to Lima Chevrolet Cadillac (2200 North Cable Road, Lima). Once there, they need to just inform one of the dealers that they need a backpack for their child. One will then be given free of charge.
A few Lima businesses felt it was time to give back to the community, just as students are going back to school. Students in 6th grade and younger can pick up a free backpack at Lima Chevrolet Cadillac, Thursday through Saturday. They partnered with T&D Interiors and Walmart to purchase backpacks for the local students who may not have any. Inside they're filled with school supplies like folders, notebooks, coloring utensils and glue. This is the first year the car dealership has done something like this.
It's a big year for an area car show as they reach a milestone.
A decade long tradition is coming back to Lima in just a few months.
