“I'm so excited about this. It's been a long time coming,” said Yvette Gordon, who brought her daughter and grandchildren to the opening. “We need something like this for our kids. They didn’t know it was going to be a big to-do, so they were a little bit nervous. But yeah, you see they are not getting out.”

While many area pools are preparing to close for the season, the state-of-the-art facility is just getting started. Doors open at 9 a.m. Saturday, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:15 a.m.
