Bringing the community together in song is the goal of an upcoming concert. The newly formed "Lima Unity" ensemble is looking to create a city-wide choir, and they are in need of singers. If you are 13 years old or older and like to sing, they want you. They will be having an "Undivided" concert on Sunday, October 27, 2024, and are asking you to help "unite" the city of Lima.

One Lima organization is celebrating their 5-year anniversary of their pursuit to curb violence and encourage unity in the city. On Monday evening, Com_UNITY Ministries gathered with residents to celebrate those 5 years with a "Praise and Prayer Picnic." The evening was also filled with honor as organizers held a "Remembrance Wall" where the names of 45 Lima citizens who lost their lives to violence. The religious group formed in 2019, following a series of shootings in June of that year, and since their inception, they have been working hard to fulfill a mission of peace and unification.

Com_U N I TY celebrated their 1-year anniversary Monday evening at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center Park.

The group was created due to the increase in gun violence in the city a year ago, and have been going strong for a year now.

A Lima woman says enough is enough and is taking a stand against the violence and disrespect she's seeing in Lima. It's a new ministry that Mary Blanche Hengstler hopes will allow people to get to know each other as they come together in praise and prayer. She's calling it "Com-unity" stressing the "Unity" as a sign that together Lima can stop the violence and become united.
