The former head of maintenance of Elida School District was back in court today(10/17/19) to sort out a complaint about restitution. In August of 2018, Matthew Burton was convicted of theft and sentenced to pay back Elida schools $85,000. That number was adjusted in January to just over $40,000. Elida officials have only received six payments since then for $100 each. They asked the judge to order higher payments. After looking over documents of Burton's expenses and income, the judge ordered that it remains reasonable for Burton to continue paying $100 a month.
