In honor of celebrating the life of a young man with a promising future gone way too soon, Councilman Derry Glenn is enlisting the help of the Lima community to raise money for the annual Mekhi Alexander Williams Scholarship to help Lima Senior High School students interested in nursing pursue their careers at any college or university of their choice. One student will receive the $1,000 scholarship leading up to graduation, with Glenn and company selling special calendars to go towards the fund.

The Mekhi Alexander Williams Scholarship was established on December 10th, the day he would have turned the young age of 17. His family says that his goal was to become a nurse and to help others. Williams was shot and killed in Lima just over a month ago, but his goal will be met through his scholarship.
