May 9, 2024, Press Release from the Fort Findlay FOP Lodge 20 Foundation: Findlay, OH – May 9, 2024 – As National Police Week, May 12-18, approaches, communities across the country are gearing up to honor the men and women who dedicate their lives to law enforcement. The Hancock County Police Week events are coordinated by the Findlay-Hancock County Law Enforcement Chaplains, the Fort Findlay F.O.P. Lodge #20, and the Lodge's Foundation. The events include meals for all law enforcement in Hancock County and a retiree event.

May 4, 2024, Press Release from the Fraternal Order of Police, Lima Lodge #21: On Wednesday, May 08, 2024, the public is invited to attend the Fraternal Order of Police, Lima Lodge #21’s 32nd Annual Police Memorial Service. This is held in conjunction with the National Police Week which begins this year on May 12th and runs through May 18th. Beginning at 12:00 noon at 750 West Robb Ave in front of the lodge hall at the memorial monument, Law enforcement officers from all agencies in the Lima-Allen County area will assemble for a memorial service to honor the ten Lima-Allen County area law enforcement officers that have lost their lives in service to their communities. A flag ceremony, gun salute and “Taps” will be provided by the Combined Honor Guards of the Allen County Sheriff’s Office and Lima Police Department. In the event of rain, the service will be held inside the lodge.

It is a memorial that sits off of Robb Avenue dedicated to Lima and Allen County officers that have died in the line of duty and on Wednesday one more officer was added to that memorial. There are now 11 stones commemorating the officers that have died in the line of duty in Lima and Allen County. A marker for Bluffton Officer Dominic Francis has been added to the memorial.
