A large mulch fire broke out on the city's northeast side earlier Sunday afternoon and still burned into the evening hours. At around 3:15 p.m., the Bath Fire Department was called out to the Resource Recycling Center for reports of a large fire burning wooden pallets and recycled mulch. Shortly after, mutual aid arrived from 12 fire departments spanning Putnam, Allen, and Hardin counties.
