October 22, 2024, Press Release from the Lima Symphony Orchestra: Lima, OH – The Lima Symphony Orchestra invites you to a regal evening of music as we present “Brahms and Water Music” featuring the Lima Symphony Chorus. Join us on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 7:30 PM at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center (7 Town Square, Lima, OH 45801). This event will transport audiences through centuries of musical splendor, from Handel’s majestic Baroque masterpieces to Brahms’ pastoral 19th-century symphony.

Downtown Lima was all a buzz as thousands of students converged on the Veteran's Memorial Civic Center. It was the annual Young People's Concert performed by the Lima Symphony Orchestra. More than 3,000 students attended the event, where it was the first time some of them had ever heard an orchestra. Schools from around the region have made this an annual event for their kids. Guest conductor Karl Hirzer says it's important to introduce students to a variety of music at this age.
