It is a labor of love as current and retired firefighters come together to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It has been an annual event since 2007 for the Lima Fire Department to participate in the Muscular Dystrophy Association "Fill the Boot." They have been out since Thursday afternoon getting donations that will help children in northwest Ohio. The cause is near and dear to the Lima Fire Department's organizer, as his mother-in-law passed away due to a form of muscular dystrophy.
