A male resident at Autumn Court nursing home in Ottawa walked out of the facility last night but was found a little more than an hour later uninjured. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office reports that around 8:22 p.m. they received the 9-1-1 call that the resident had left the facility on foot. A search started, and drone operators were contacted to assist. Around 9:53 p.m., he was located with a drone thermal camera in the backyard of a nearby residence.

There are several levels of nursing that someone can earn, depending on what kind of care they would like to provide for patients. One of those levels is a Licensed Practical Nurse or LPN, and students at Rhodes State College can become an LPN with the college's Practical Nursing Certificate Program.

December 11, 2024, Press Release from Rhodes State College: LIMA, Ohio, December 11, 2024 - Nominations are open through January 20 for the Rhodes State College 2025 Outstanding Alumni Award (OAA) and Circle of Excellence. Community members are invited to nominate graduates of Rhodes State College or Lima Technical College who have achieved distinguished accomplishments and brought recognition to themselves and the College. The Outstanding Alumni Award recipient will be honored through a named Outstanding Alumni Scholarship. Both the OAA recipient and the Circle of Excellence inductees will be recognized at the Rhodes State College Commencement on May 3, 2025.

Rhodes State College has a large nursing program to say the least - with all of the different degrees combined, around 300-400 students are enrolled in Rhodes' nursing program at any given time. One of those degrees that Rhodes offers is an associates in nursing, which is a two year program. "They do get their associate degree at the end, and then they can sit for their national state board exam called the NCLEX, and that’s what gives their nursing license to become a registered nurse," said Dr. Melissa Harvey, assistant dean of nursing at Rhodes State College.
