Fred Miller, president of the Wapak Breakfast Optimist Club, said, “What more could you ask for, to be out in the sun in a hammock, reading? I mean, that just says it all. For the kids, that's our end goal, to create better, I guess, projects for kids that are out there to help them as far as their comprehension in school.”

Five- and six-year-olds are spending the week exploring the hidden ABCs of nature.
Thanks to a partnership between the City of Lima and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), students enjoyed a day of outdoor learning and fishing after studying the sport in the classroom. The hands-on experience included fishing, boating, and lessons in catch-and-release practices.
