Teamsters Union 908 celebrated that passage of an act that saves their pensions.  The Butch Lewis Act essentially saves workers pensions from taking cuts due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) says he is still working on helping Ohioans keep their pensions in the new congressional session.

Brown says the pension problem is still one of his highest priorities, and that he, Senator Rob Portman (R-OH), and others are still working on the pension bill. The Bill would prohibit reductions by half or more in pension benefits to those in multi-employer pension plans. 

He is hoping to have the issue resolved this year, and says the longer it waits, the harder it will be to fix.

It's crunch time for U.S. Senators and Congressmen to come up with a solution so 1.5 million Americans don't lose a large number of their pensions. 

Democratic leaders in the House and Senate are urging Congress to act prevent massive cuts to pension for union retirees. 

In Lima, a meeting was held to bring teamster retirees up to speed about what needs to be done to protect their pensions.

Thousands of Teamster retirees from across the country joined together at the U.S. Capitol Thursday to protest the proposed cuts to their pensions by the Central States, Southeast and Southwest Areas Pension Fund or CSPF.
