The brisk morning brought high anticipation for people waiting to take that plunge into the frozen pond. The Ada Liberty Township Fire Department removed a sheet of ice from the edge of the pond, and waited on standby.

This is the 11th Year for the Polar Plunge and this year Delta Sigma Phi is raising money for the Alzheimer's Association. Keaton Cox, the philanthropy chair of the fraternity, is excited to see their planning for the event pay off.

The Celina Moose hosted their annual Polar Plunge benefiting Special Olympics Ohio. Many of the dozens of people that came out took a dip for the sake of providing resources for athletes all around the state. “Funds raised today are going to help our athletes compete, train. practice, get to and from practice, uniforms, equipment, and really, truly level the playing field for individuals with intellectual disabilities to have a level playing field with traditional athletes,” said Rob DuVall. Vice President of Marketing and Development for Special Olympics Ohio.

For the last 11 years, the Celina Moose Lodge has been the place to be to help raise money for a good cause.

Despite the freezing cold and biting winds, Ohio Northern University students grabbed their towels and jumped into cold water for this year’s Polar Plunge.
