A crucial vote was made Monday night at Lima City Council regarding the future of the highly contested Cable Road Safety Improvement Project. In a packed council chambers and following lengthy discussions along with dozens of letters submitted by community members both in support of and opposed to the project, Council narrowly passed the ordinance in a 5-3 vote.
A contract is on the table that will hopefully bring the county and city together regarding how Ohio building codes will be handled in the future. Handshakes around the table today as Allen County commissioners offered the City of Lima's building department first dibs on staffing a soon to be formed "Allen County Building Department".
The Elm Street grade separation project has hit another snafu as Century Link has delayed progress once again.
