The middle age group of students at the Rhodesology summer camp earlier this month had a variety of experiences to check out.
The “Access to Capital” Lunch and Learn will be held Thursday, May 15, at the Rhodes State Borra Center in Lima Town Square. The event begins at 11 a.m. and is free to attend, though registration is requested by email at charitie.toland@yourstatebank.com.
Five nursing students making history at Rhodes State College on Wednesday. The first-ever pinning and white coat ceremony was held for the new completion program at Rhodes.
Rhodes State College will be purchasing new equipment for their new semiconductor certificate program coming to campus. The State of Ohio awarded Rhodes State a $113,000 grant to invest in the new technology. The technology consists of various vacuum and gas equipment that will allow students to learn and train in realistic semiconductor manufacturing environments.
The Lima Rotary Club got an update on the ongoing downtown project for Rhodes State College. Rhodes President Dr. Cynthia Spiers spoke to the club to show some of the features planned at the Center for Health Science Education and Innovation. Spiers went on to say they plan on breaking ground for the project in either late January or early February next year. Part of the delay in getting the ball rolling for this project involved Rhodes making sure they secured the space needed.
Competitions consisted of a network scavenger hunt, an electronic challenge, a hill climb, tallest tower competition and robotics obstacle course.
