More than 250 people volunteered this year for the Rise Against Hunger meal packing event at Delphos St. Johns High School.

Groups packed 35,000 meal bags full of rice, soy meal and vegetables. And then those bags were then measured, sealed and then packed into boxes. Those who participate every year say it gives them great joy to know they are helping others.

The Delphos "Rise Against Hunger" is set for this Sunday at 1 pm at St. John’s School and in order to pack 35 thousand meals, they need another 3 thousand dollars.  They've already raised 8 thousand dollars to buy some of the supplies they need.  'Rise Against Hunger" is an international non-profit that sends packaged food and other items to people in developing countries.  This is the 4TH year that the Delphos community has stepped up to help feed people around the world and organizers say with a few more donations, they can help even more.

A Delphos Ministry is asking for help in feeding hungry people around the world.

Rise Against Hunger is returning to Delphos for the third year to package meals for starving people, particularly in Haiti. This year's goal is to package 35,000 meals, but while they have all of the volunteers they need funds are still a little low. So, they are asking the community to help make up the $3,500 in donations they still need, saying for the price of your daily cup of coffee you could feed over a hundred mouths.

Citizens of Delphos came together with one goal in mind: to put together meal packages for the organization Rise Against Hunger.
