The City of Delphos is gearing up to help feed people around the world for their second annual Rise Against Hunger event.
They have had an overwhelming response this year, so much so, they jumped their goal of packaging 25,000 meals to 30,000. City officials and organizers say this response just shows how a small city can make a big impact with people battling hunger all over the world.
“Delphos is really lucky to have a lot of volunteers, whenever the community needs help, the people of Delphos has always stepped up and helped each other out,” says Delphos Mayor Josh Gillespie. "Not only do we help the citizens of Delphos and other people in the community, this gives us a unique opportunity to provide assistance worldwide at a smaller level."
“And that is what our hope is that this could be a day that people will come together and just work together to do something to work to make the world a better place,” adds Ellen Ditto, Event Coordinator for Rise Against Hunger.
