LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A new community-driven organization is taking the lead in bringing entertainment and events to downtown Lima.

The Lima Festival and Amphitheater Alliance has officially launched as a nonprofit group dedicated to managing programming and supporting events at the Greater Lima Region Amphitheater.

The alliance will serve as the primary organization for coordinating the use of the amphitheater, with a focus on producing and supporting year-round festivals and live entertainment. The group is also partnering with the City of Lima, which will continue to manage rentals of the facility for individuals, businesses and organizations. Leaders say the new structure will help create a steady flow of activities in the downtown area.

Lima Festival and Amphitheater Alliance plans busy season of entertainment

“We’re going to generate four-season festivals. We’re going to bring back ‘Toast to the City,’ where we can spend an evening celebrating the successes of our city,” said John Heaphy, president of the Lima Festival and Amphitheater Alliance. “We’ve also programmed an eight-show season for the amphitheater called ‘Party in the Pavilion.’ These are family-friendly shows. Children under 12 are admitted free, and tickets are low cost.”

The alliance hopes the expanded lineup of events will draw more visitors downtown while creating affordable entertainment options for families throughout the year. More information about upcoming events and how to get involved can be found on the organization’s website.
