BATH (WLIO) — Liberty-Benton jumped out to an early lead and never let Bath get all the way back in an 8-4 win.
The Eagles created separation in the third inning when Zach Elchert delivered a two-run double to left field, extending the lead to 8-1.
Bath responded in the fourth inning. Logan Markley drove in Karson Green with a single up the middle, and Jacob Lepley followed with a groundout that brought home another run to cut the deficit to 8-3.
On the mound, Jackson Knepper recorded three strikeouts for Liberty-Benton, including a pair in the fifth inning to help maintain control.
Liberty-Benton held off the Wildcats the rest of the way to secure the victory.
