MIDDLE POINT (WLIO) — Lincolnview wasted little time taking control and then blew the game open with a nine-run fourth inning in a 12-1 win over Ayersville in five innings.
The Lancers struck first in the opening inning when Seth Brandt drove in Holden Price with a base hit to left-center. Later in the frame, Evan Rahrig added a two-run double to right-center, scoring Case Young and Brandt to make it a three-run game.
Ayersville got one run back in the second on a Dane Ewers double that brought home Brock Hauenstein.
Lincolnview kept the Pilots quiet from there. Gavin Evans provided scoreless relief and recorded two strikeouts over two innings. At the plate, Price added to the outburst by driving in Maxwell Hammons during the Lancers’ nine-run fourth inning.
Lincolnview finished the job in five innings with the 12-1 victory.
