Tom Stinebaugh is facing multiple counts including having unlawful interest in a public contract, conflict of interest, and theft in office. The prosecution says the charges are being focused around a handful of incidents, including appointing his brother as acting fire chief days after taking the office of mayor. He also allegedly made the city pay for the construction of a sewer line to a home that his company built.

According to Auglaize County Sheriff Mike Vorhees, the cases for Amanda Hovanec, Anthony Theodorou, and Anita Green have been moved to the Northern Ohio Court in Toledo. Vorhees informs that his detectives are still working with the FBI on the investigation into the death of Timothy Hovanec. Vorhees says they decided that it would be better off if the U.S. Attorneys handle the prosecution of the case.

Daquan Burse will be assigned a new lawyer because his current lawyer is also representing Travis Cook, who is charged with firing a gun at a home on June 26th, 2019. Burse is the alleged victim in that case, but since the lawyer was assigned cook's case first, he needs to step down from Burse's case. Burse was arrested on June 28th, 2019 for allegedly firing a shot at a home and he is also facing two cases involving trafficking drugs.

34-year-old Matthew Smith has waived the right to a jury trial and instead, he will have a bench trial. Smith was charged with 69 counts of rape. He is also charged with 4 counts of gross sexual imposition and 10 counts of sexual battery. According to the indictment, the victims' ages range from 8-years-old to 13-years-old at the time of the alleged sexual assaults, which started in March of 2019 and ran until September of 2020.
