MIDDLE POINT, Ohio (WLIO) — Lincolnview Lancers continued its strong stretch of play Saturday with a dominant 14-1 win over Parkway Panthers.
The eighth-ranked team in Division VI entered the day having won three of its last four games and wasted little time building momentum offensively.
Lincolnview led 2-1 in the second inning when Chayse Overholt grounded one to the right side and reached safely at first, allowing Evan Rahrig to score and extend the lead to 3-1.
The Lancers added more in the third inning. With one runner on base, Grant Zielke drove a ball into the left-center gap, bringing home Gavin Evans all the way from first base to make it 4-1. Lincolnview added two more runs in the inning to push the advantage to five.
Meanwhile, Gavin Evans delivered a strong outing on the mound. The senior struck out five batters while allowing just one hit and one run across four innings of work.
The Lancers continued to pour on runs in the fourth inning. Holden Price singled to center field to score Overholt and make it 7-1. Price finished the game with three hits and four RBIs.
Later in the inning, Jackson Ingledue dropped a base hit into center field to score Evans and extend the lead to 8-1.
Lincolnview added even more offense when Case Young delivered an opposite-field base hit with two runners on base, driving in both Zielke and Ingledue.
The Lancers rolled to the 14-1 victory and improved to 13-3 overall.
