HARROD (WLIO) — Allen East continued its strong start to the season, rolling past Parkway 12-1 in five innings to remain unbeaten.
The Mustangs struck early with small ball in the first inning, as Ethan Hershberger reached on a swinging bunt to bring home Travis Stanley for the game’s first run. Later in the inning, Caleb Lybarger added a run-scoring hit off the wall in left field, and Jacob Williams helped cap a four-run frame to give Allen East a 4-0 lead.
Parkway turned a 6-4-3 double play with Jacoby Triplett and Jack Yoder to escape further damage, but the Mustangs stayed in control.
On the mound, Jackson Thompson led the way for Allen East, striking out nine of the 19 batters he faced while allowing just one run.
Allen East finished the job in five innings, improving to 4-0 with the win.
