ST. MARYS (WLIO) - The St. Marys Roughriders enter the 2026 season looking to build on a strong finish to last year's campaign.

After starting 0-2 with losses to Galion and Bath, St. Marys won eight of its next 10 games to finish 8-4. The Roughriders' season ended with a second-round playoff loss to Medina Buckeye.

St. Marys will have several key pieces to replace, including five defensive starters and four on offense. That group includes quarterback Aiden Meinerding and second-team All-Ohio running back Caleb Schmidt.

The Roughriders will also look to avenge last season's WBL losses to Bath and Wapakoneta. Entering his sixth season, head coach Bo Frye says retooling the offense will be one of the team's top priorities this fall.
