The Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) has released project agreements for the most recent annual round of infrastructure funding.
While main roads are clear and dry, many secondary streets remain covered with snow and ice. Crews were out early spreading a special mixture designed to break up the remaining snow and ice on the roads.
Construction season will be starting early in downtown Lima as phase two of the streetscape improvement project is set to begin. Truck detour signs will be going up in early February for Central Avenue between Elm Street and Wayne Street. The contractor will begin installing the new storm sewer during the winter, and in the spring work on new sidewalks, street lighting, crosswalks, and more will begin.
An Indiana man was killed in a crash between two semis in Van Wert County Wednesday night. According to the Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 64-year-old Blane Williamson was killed in the crash that happened just after 6 p.m. Thursday night at the intersection of U.S. 30 and State Route 49.

The traffic light at the intersection of Elm Street and Jameson will be worked on, and the intersection will become a four-way stop. With a partial lane closure. If you can find an alternate route for Thursday, it may be a good idea. The work is expected to take about 8 hours.
A Wapakoneta man was killed in a crash on an exit ramp off I-75 this morning. The Findlay Post of the Ohio State Patrol reports that 42-year-old Joshua Little was hit by a vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene. The post says the crash happened just after 6:15 a.m. Thursday on the southbound 75 exit ramp to State Route 103.

On Saturday, November 9, I-75 southbound will be reduced to a single lane starting at 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. Please note that the following ramps will be intermittently closed for entering or exiting I-75 southbound: Stewart Street, Edwin C. Moses Boulevard, Springboro Pike (SR 741) and Dryden Road. The work at the SR 741 bridge has been completed ahead of schedule and required lane closures will eliminate the need for the lane shift between Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and Dryden Road. Southbound traffic will return to its original configuration south of Edwin C. Moses Boulevard.
The State of Ohio is providing money to build two more roundabouts in Allen County to make those intersections safer. Governor Mike DeWine awarded $63 million to 19 roundabout projects or cable barrier projects statewide. The Ohio Department of Transportation will be looking to build a single-lane roundabout at the intersection of State Route 501 and Fort Amanda Road. They were awarded $3.5 million for the project that is expected to start in 2029.
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A two-vehicle crash in downtown Lima Monday morning ended with one car upside-down in an intersection. No one was seriously injured in the crash, but one person was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
