Subzero temperatures and a frozen fire hydrant made difficult conditions for fire fighters to battle two homes on fire Tuesday morning.

Lima firefighters responded to an early morning duplex fire on East Albert Street Monday, causing an estimated $23,000 in damage and displacing residents who are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
