We all know the struggle after getting a bad night’s sleep, but there are steps you can take the following day to help you bounce back. “Generally, we recommend you go to sleep the next night at your regular bedtime. We don't necessarily want to promote long naps during the day because that's going to erode sleep quality the following night,” said Nancy Foldvary, DO, a sleep specialist for Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Foldvary explained the overall goal is to fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day.

Health is more than diet and exercise, and Activate Allen County is working to make sure other avenues of good health are being met. The group is accepting applications for its annual Faith Community Challenge. It is to encourage area churches and faith-based organizations to increase their support of the health and well-being of their parishioners. The challenge provides financial assistance and technical support for those efforts.

A new Cleveland Clinic survey found 95% of men in the United States say that living a healthy lifestyle is a top priority. However, those numbers change when it comes to taking action. It appears Gen X and Boomers are more likely than Gen Z and Millennials to go in for annual exams or recommended screenings. The same goes for having a primary care doctor.

But Beth Czerwony, RD, a registered dietitian for Cleveland Clinic, said there are many ways to naturally boost your energy, including not skipping breakfast. Sticking to balanced meals with lean proteins and complex carbs can give you energy over a longer period of time since it takes your body more time to digest them. For example, packing a grilled chicken sandwich on wheat bread for lunch is better than packing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on white bread.
