Fourth-grade students get to hear about the "GOOD" program from the man who created it. Ron Derry was a teacher and coach at a high school in central Ohio and then he lost his sight due to retinopathy. He decided not to be defeated and continued educating children as a speaker encouraging children that even though life can be tough, they have the ability to make a bad situation into a good situation.

Monday was the kick-off of the school year with the dean's convocation. It's the first major on-campus event with a concert, games, and food. The Lima campus offers thirteen four-year degrees onsite and more than 200 majors that can be completed at the main campus in Columbus. Student life advisors are encouraging the incoming freshmen to engage, learn and thrive as they are now Buckeyes.

The university will be changing their definition of "Fully Vaccinated" to "Up to Date Vaccination" to take into account of students getting their booster shots. At the end of the fall semester, 82% of the students were fully vaccinated. Those students who are not vaccinated will have to be tested before they can return to school and will be tested regularly during the semester. The omicron variant has caused ONU concern. They have been fully in-person learning since August 2020 and university officials want to see that trend continue.
