The Shawnee School Board says they are going to wait a year before going to voters for additional money. The board has pulled a 4.2 mill tax levy from the May ballot which would raise more money for operating expenses. With the recent property assessments in Shawnee School District going up, the board is going to see more money coming in from current tax levies on the books.

A Shawnee school teacher has been charged with sexual battery, after he was arrested with a 14-year-old girl.
