CINCINNATI (AP) — Joe Burrow gave a pregame speech to his teammates Sunday, and they responded with a 34-24 win over the Carolina Panthers. Burrow has the Bengals offense humming again. The defense, however, is a work in progress. That could be a problem when Cincinnati hosts the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are rolling after a 35-10 rout of Buffalo. Burrow was good for the third straight week, finishing 22 for 31 for 232 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. The Bengals rushed for 141 yards.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — For the second straight week, the Cleveland Browns had multiple opportunities in the fourth quarter to rally for a win, but fell short. Quarterback Deshaun Watson said to put the blame on him after Cleveland blew an early 10-0 lead and lost 20-16 to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. While Watson's 75% completion rate and 84.9 rating were both season highs, the Browns could not take advantage of a Raiders team that was missing star players Davante Adams and Maxx Crosby. The Browns have led in all four games but fell into last place in the AFC North, tied with Cincinnati.

Justin Pegues took the opening kick and raced 100 yards for a touchdown and Terion Stewart ran for three scores, including 73 yards for a fourth-quarter touchdown, and Bowling Green rolled to a 41-17 win over Fordham in the season-opener. The Falcons opened their season at home for the first time since 2019 with their first meeting with the Rams.
