A motion to take another look at a 20-year-old murder case is moving forward in Allen County Common Pleas Court. Members of the Innocence Project appeared in court Tuesday, on behalf of Cory Holland, for a status conference. A DNA motion was filed in January to test evidence from Holland's murder of Dorothy Miller in 1999. The state has agreed to test items such as a piece of the murder weapon, Miller's clothing, the material under her nails, and pieces of a cash register to see if biological evidence exists. Innocence Project would pay for out of state testing, but the state will differ to the decision of the judge on where materials will be tested.

The Allen County Common Pleas Court is moving forward with a case presented by The Innocence Project.

The court has issued a two week window for evidence to be gathered from the murder case of Cory Holland. Then, an order with be made on what evidence, if any, can be tested for DNA. In January, the national organization, "The Innocence Project" filed a memorandum to have postconviction DNA testing done. Holland was convicted for the murder of Dorothy Miller at a dry cleaners in 1999. The Innocence Project believes they have evidence a Willie Amos committed the murder.

A national organization that looks at cases that they believe the defendants were wrongfully convicted, has filed a memorandum of support to get new DNA tests done on a 1999 Lima murder case. "The Innocence Project" filed their memorandum in Allen County Clerks of Courts Office to get new DNA testing done in the case against Cory Holland.
