Starting Tuesday, April 1, all permits, licensing applications, and building plan submissions can be completed electronically. The department is transitioning to SmartGov, an online permitting and licensing system. Officials say the new process will reduce the current 29-day turnaround to 14 days or less.

October 14, 2024, Press Release from Cenovus Energy: In the coming week, the Lima refinery will begin preparations to complete a turnaround and will be bringing up some units. The public might notice intermittent flaring, noise, or odor in the coming weeks as this proceeds.
Cenovus Refinery is preparing for some major work at the Lima refinery starting in early September. The refinery will begin bringing down units on September 3rd to do needed maintenance. During what is known as a "shutdown" or "turnaround," work will be done to make repairs and improvements to the equipment. During that time, the general public may notice additional flaring, different noises, and odors, which are all part of the process.
