Allen East sixth graders in a math intervention class raised $979 for the Veterans Food Pantry of Northwest Ohio through a creative “Math-A-Thon” fundraiser. Students collected pledges based on the number of math problems they answered correctly, combining academics with community service.
The Allen County Veterans Transportation Center officially opened, providing shelter for veterans and transportation vehicles during medical appointment pickups. The Allen County Veterans Service Commission is also expanding its services to offer free rides to local private medical appointments for veterans.
