Ottawa is helping people get easier access to one of their best natural resources. The village and the Greenspace Development Committee officially open their latest project, the new Blanchard River Access for canoes and kayaks at Arrowhead Park.  This goes along with one already at the village reservoir.  Besides the concrete access point, the committee has also created three miles of walking paths around the park.

 Ottawa-Glandorf Swing Choir was making the 2022 Small Businesses Saturday a little bit special with their rendition of Santa Claus is Coming to Town.  But, so were a whole lot of other people to support Ottawa businesses that day, like Beckman’s Jewelers.  The business has been a community staple for over 125 years and owner Greg Beckman says his customers mean everything to him and his business. 

Council voted to adopt regulations related to the operations of trolley bikes within the village of Ottawa. This will follow the regulations put in place for their allowable golf cart ordinance which restricts where they can travel in the village. 

Putnam County commissioners and the Village of Ottawa are working on switching over control of a couple utilities.

Tuesday afternoon, the Mayor of Ottawa held his State of the Village Address.

A public meeting and brainstorming session was held in Putnam County Tuesday morning to discuss areas of greenspace that the Village of Ottawa now owns after tearing down flood-prone properties.
