May 7, 2024, Press Release from Ohio State University at Lima: Defiance and Shawnee took home top honors in the Western Buckeye League Scholastic Bowl Tournament held Thursday, May 2, 2024, at The Ohio State University at Lima. Defiance swept its matches to win the varsity competition with Shawnee as runner up. Shawnee JV won in head-to-head competition to beat Defiance in the junior varsity competition.

Today, students from 10 schools put their heads together to compete in the Western Buckeye League Scholastic Bowl Tournament. This is the 15th year the Ohio State University of Lima hosted the competition. Over 120 students answered timed questions on various subjects against other schools in the area. The event coordinator and Assistant Dean, Bryan Albright, says teams were very excited to return and show off their skills after last year's tournament was cancelled.
