LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The UNOH men’s basketball team was back on the court for game two, looking to bounce back after a tough overtime loss to Cleary. The Racers returned home at 12-3 on their home floor, hoping to get back in the win column against Cornerstone.
In the first half, Antonio King set the tone early. The senior lowered his shoulder, powered through contact and finished off the glass to keep UNOH within striking distance as they trailed by three.
Moments later, senior Grant Pikkaart took over. The veteran guard attacked the lane and knocked down the jumper as part of his 22-point performance.
Off a turnover, Caleb Chapman pushed the pace and sent it ahead to King, who rose up for the emphatic finish. The senior poured in a game-high 34 points to lead the Racers.
Shortly after, Alex Benson found space on the perimeter and buried a three-pointer that got a friendly bounce. Benson added 13 points in the effort.
The contest came down to the final seconds, but UNOH came up just short, falling 86-84 to Cornerstone.
The Racers will look to regroup in their final home matchup of the season against Lourdes next Wednesday before closing out the regular season on the road at Michigan-Dearborn.
