LIMA — The undefeated start to the season came to an end for the University of Northwestern Ohio women on Thursday night, as the Racers fell 80-59 to 23rd-ranked Indiana Tech at the Garage.
UNO trailed 45-27 at halftime but opened the third quarter with a highlight from Sanaaiya Gray, who drove left and finished at the rim to trim the deficit to 16. Brooke Asher followed a few minutes later with a three-pointer off a screen, her only make from long range. Alysia Lawson later added another three, part of her 15-point performance.
Asher scored again early in the fourth quarter on a strong drive inside, but Indiana Tech maintained control throughout the second half. The Warriors’ offense proved too much for UNOH to match as the Racers dropped their first game of the season.
Indiana Tech closed out the night with a steady fourth quarter to hand UNOH the loss.
