The Allen County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its efforts to fight the war on drugs and has a new number for anonymous tips.
Due to a new phone system, the number has changed. The tip line has given the sheriff information that has led to drug-active homes and neighborhoods. Residents can call in with information that can help the department with drug activity, leading to a conviction in some cases. Residents can report suspicious activity but are urged not to act.
Allen County Sheriff Matt Treglia said, “What I want to stress is, I don’t want somebody going out and trying to play police officer and try to get license plates and try to confront people. That’s the last thing we want. If you want to call with the information of an address, maybe the names of people who live there. Maybe a description of a vehicle, vehicles leaving and coming from the residences on a regular basis, that’s the kind of stuff we want to look into,”
That tip number is now 419-996-7002 and is completely anonymous.
