Allen County Sheriff Matt Treglia – “What I want to stress is I don’t want somebody going out and trying to play police officer and try to get license plates and try to confront people. That’s the last thing we want. If you want to call with the information of an address, maybe the names of people who live there. Maybe a description of a vehicle, vehicles leaving and coming from the residences on a regular basis, that’s the kind off stuff we want to look into,”

Allen County is seeing a slight increase in reported cases, and they expect those numbers to rise as those contracting the virus at family gatherings are just coming to light. Allen County Public Health reports there have been no confirmed cases of the Omicron variant but that doesn’t mean it’s not here and the severity of the COVID virus differs.

The Allen County Commissioners are getting ready to wrap up 2021 and get ready for a busy first part of 2022.  The commissioners are holding their final few meetings of the year this week.   Beth Seibert, Cory Noonan, and Brian Winegardner now have a full year together under their belts, since Winegardner was appointed Commissioner in December of last year.  Seibert, who served as the board president, says the group came together as a team this past year and were able to discuss difficult things and learn from each other.  Now they are ready to hit the ground running in January, with some big topics on their plate.
