LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - We are less than a month away from the November 4th general election, and that means that people can start voting now in-person at their county board of elections.

While this is considered an off-year election, we do have a lot of contested trustee and school board races on the ballot that residents can vote on. There are also many levies to decide funding for school districts, townships, and villages that residents will need to decide on. If you are already registered, all you will need is your ID to get your ballot.

"Early voting in-person is very similar to Election Day; you're going to need your picture ID unexpired," said Morgan Bode, executive director of the Allen County Board of Elections. "The vast majority of people just use their driver's license or state ID. We are open 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday. We will be closed for Columbus Day, however, so just bear that in mind."

Early and absentee voting begins in the Buckeye State

If you are already registered, all you will need is your ID to get your ballot.

Another way you can vote early is with an absentee ballot. The last day to submit an application for an absentee ballot is October 28th. You can find the applications on county board of elections websites or voteohio.gov.
