LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Community members are encouraged to mark their calendars as the Ottawa River Coalition prepares for its annual Good Friday fish fry, set to take place next week.
Organizers say they are planning for an even larger turnout after last year’s event sold out, promising more fish and encouraging attendees to arrive early and come hungry.
In addition to the meal, guests can participate in a silent auction featuring a variety of items, including concert tickets to see Koe Wetzel, a headliner at this year’s Allen County Fair.
The fish fry serves as the coalition’s primary fundraiser of the year, supporting efforts such as river cleanup initiatives, educational programming and scholarships.
“All the money goes to our education efforts, the Ottawa River cleanup, our scholarship and our efforts to keep the rivers here in the Ottawa River beautiful,” said Lydia Archambo of the Allen Soil and Water Conservation District.
The fish fry serves as the coalition’s primary fundraiser of the year.
The event will take place Friday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., or until sold out. Tickets are $15 for dine-in or carryout, with catering provided by Fat Kid BBQ.
