Members of the Lima Rotary Club are getting into the holiday spirit with their annual Christmas auction, a long-standing tradition that raises money for the Rotary Foundation through both silent and live bidding.
It was paradise for area bookworms as the AAUW Book Fair kicked into high gear Tuesday. At 4 p.m., the doors opened, and people rushed inside the former Rite Aid at West Elm Street and Eastown Road to find their next good read.
During the dinner, the board premiered a documentary looking back on the fair’s 175-year history and awarded 10 scholarships to students.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association awards $1,000 scholarships to 200 senior who recently graduated statewide, and they also gave $1,250 to each member high school to help their athletic departments with their expenses. Around 15 students from West Central Ohio were recipients of the OHSAA’s Scholar-Athlete Scholarship.
