ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) – Randall Bearings could soon have a new neighbor on Jay Begg Parkway in Shawnee Township.

The Allen County Commissioners approved a development agreement to extend Jay Begg Parkway, paving the way for a potential 110,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center. The project could create about 25 permanent jobs, along with hundreds of contracted construction jobs.

The land is owned by the Allen County Port Authority, which is partnering with VanTrust Real Estate Development to build the necessary infrastructure for the project.

Jay Begg Parkway expansion to support new distribution center in Shawnee Township

The Allen County Commissioners approved a development agreement to extend Jay Begg Parkway.

“So, in order to access their site, they'll need to extend Jay Begg Parkway, but that also opens up the additional 30 acres that's still available. So, the developer has agreed to, at their cost, extend Jay Begg Parkway, which is about 800 to 1000 feet extension, and also contribute $1.5 million of additional road work improvement that's needed at the intersection," said Cindy Leis, president and CEO of the Allen Economic Development Group.

The new distribution center could break ground before the start of 2026.

This announcement follows news that Findlay-based Ohio Logistics plans to construct two 100,000-square-foot spec buildings in Lima’s Gateway Commerce Parkway, with groundbreaking expected on the first phase next month.
