LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce is inviting the community to take a cultural journey without leaving town, as preparations are underway for this year’s Multicultural Expo.

The Chamber is calling on families, groups, and organizations across the region to share their heritage and traditions at the event, which celebrates the rich cultural diversity of Allen County. Past expos have featured countries such as Japan, Panama, and India, represented through food, music, and dance.

Organizers say they hope to expand the range of cultures showcased, including those connected to the county's early history and beyond—such as German, Italian, Irish, Native American, and more.

“We want all of those to come together. So hoping that we can get the word out so that anyone in the community that is a part of those and would love to celebrate and share all their heritage would come and join us at the Multicultural Expo,” said Julie Klingler, director of programs and partnerships for the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce.

The Multicultural Expo is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater. The event is free and open to the public.

Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to contact Klingler at 419-222-6045.
