May 14, 2024, Press Release from the Delphos Police Department:The Delphos Police Department received 370 calls for service in the month of April. The following is a partial list of calls handled for the month of April and do not include traffic citations, crashes, ect.

The police department has a large number of bicycles that have been located or turned in. If you are missing a bicycle, please come to the police department and describe the bicycle you are missing, and we will get it back to you.

On 4-1-2024 officers met with a male from Indiana who reported that he came to the 800 block of Skinner St, to purchase some stereo equipment. The male left and realized he forgot an item, but the seller would not give it to him when he returned.

On 4-2-2024 a female requested officers attempt to locate and perform a wellbeing check on her brother who has dementia. The male left his residence and had not returned.

On 4-2-2024 officers were sent to the 800 block of Skinner St, after someone reported hearing loud explosions, possibly fireworks.

On 4-3-2024 a female came to the police department to file a menacing report. She stated that a male had sent messages about her to her son’s father that were threatening.

On 4-3-2024 a male came to the police department to file an ungovernable juvenile report on his stepdaughter.

On 4-4-2024 officers met with a female who stated that she was sexually assaulted by a male acquaintance.

On 4-4-2024 officers located a male, Ryan Acosta of Delphos, who had an active warrant. Acosta was taken into custody and transported to the Van Wert County Jail.

On 4-5-2024 officers spoke with a male who reported that the mother of his daughter tried to pick her up from school violating a court order.

On 4-5-2024 officers spoke with a male in the 600 block of W. 6th St, who reported that someone broke out a window in his residence.

On 4-6-2024 officers were sent to a business in the 200 block of W. 5th St, for a male causing a disturbance inside the store. The male was ordered to leave and served with a Criminal Trespass notice.

On 4-6-2024 officers were dispatched to a residence on Southridge drive to check the well being of a juvenile who may have threatened to harm herself.

On 4-7-2024 a female called from the 600 block of E. 7th St, to report a suspicious person walking around a motorhome.

On 4-7-2024 officers responded to the 300 block of S. Pierce St, for a report of an assault. Officers spoke with the juvenile victim and he stated that he was assaulted by two juvenile females.

On 4-7-2024 a female called the police department to report that a female was threatening her and her friend.

On 4-8-2024 a female, who lives in St. Mary’s, called the police department to report that someone withdrew money from her bank account at an ATM in Delphos. A second victim, a male who also lives in St. Mary’s, called a short time later to advise that he too was a victim of Theft from his bank account at the same ATM. Later that day, a 3rd victim called from St. Mary’s to advise that she too had money withdrawn from her account.

On 4-9-2024 a male called the police department to report that a female was threatening to damage his property.

On 4-9-2024 a male called from the 900 block of Superior St, to report that an ex-girlfriend was in his residence removing property.

On 4-10-2024 officers were sent back to the 900 block of Superior St, for an unwanted guest. The female had returned to the residence trying to remove property. The female also wanted to file a report stating that the male had assaulted her the previous day.

On 4-10-2024 officers were sent to the 24000 block of W. Lincoln Highway for a report of a possible sexual assault. A male, Seth Waggamon, was taken into custody and transported to the Van Wert County Jail. The Detective Bureau is conducting the investigation.

On 4-11-2024 officers were sent to the 200 block of W. Clime St, for a Domestic Disturbance.

On 4-11-2024 officers were asked to perform a well being check on a juvenile female who was possibly making statements to harm herself. Officers spoke with the females’ parents, and they advised they were taking her for a mental evaluation.

On 4-12-2024 an employee at a business on Elida Ave, reported that a customer attempted to pay with a counterfeit bill.

On 4-13-2024 the manager at a mobile home park called officers to report that two juveniles were damaging property.

On 4-13-2024 officers were sent to the 800 block of S. Main St, for a Domestic Disturbance.

On 4-13-2024 officers spoke with a female who stated that her juvenile son was missing. The child was located a short time later.

On 4-13-2024 a male called to report that money was withdrawn from his bank account by an unknown person.

On 4-14-2024 officers spoke with a male who reported that his phone was stolen out of his truck. After speaking with the other person involved it was determined that this is a civil issue as the two know each other and the other male was making payments each month.

On 4-15-2024 the manager at a mobile home park called to report that tenant’s, that have been evicted from the property, keep returning.

On 4-16-2024 officers met with a female in the 600 block of S. Jefferson St, who reported her foster son being unruly.

On 4-16-2024 officers spoke with a female in the 700 block of N. Canal St, who reported that her son was being unruly.

On 4-17-2024 officers were advised of a suspicious person in the 900 block of N. Franklin St, possibly looking into vehicles. The complainant just wanted the area checked.

On 4-17-2024 officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lima Ave, for a possible Domestic Violence incident. Officers arrived and met with the subjects involved but they denied any disturbance taking place.

On 4-17-2024 officers spoke with a bank employee who reported that they have received two counterfeit bills recently.

On 4-18-2024 a female called the police department to report that the license plate was stolen off of her vehicle sometime overnight.

On 4-19-2024 a male called the police department to report that his ex-girlfriend hacked his electric provider account and had his power shut off.

On 4-19-2024 officers were sent to the 900 block of Lima Ave, to investigate a deceased person.

On 4-20-2024 officers responded to the 300 block of W. 4th St, for a Domestic Disturbance.

On 4-20-2024 officers spoke with a male in the 1300 block of S. Bredeick St, who reported that an item was stolen from his residence by a male known to him.

On 4-21-2024 a male called from the 400 block of W. 4th St, to report that someone shot off fireworks and it damaged his car.

On 4-22-2024 a female called the police department to report that her boyfriend took her vehicle without permission. The female said that her boyfriend regularly uses her vehicle but did not ask this time.

On 4-22-2024 officers were sent to the 900 block of Superior St, for an unwanted guest.

On 4-22-2024 a female called the police department stating that a male was threatening her.

On 4-22-2024 a male in the 1300 block of S. Bredeick St, reported having items stolen from him.

On 4-23-2024 officers spoke with a male in the 24000 block of W. Lincoln Highway who reported someone threw a substance on his front porch while he was away.

On 4-24-2024 a financial institution on E. 5th St, called to report receiving a counterfeit bill.

On 4-25-2024 officers were sent to a business on Gressel Dr. for an altercation at a business between a delivery driver and employees.

On 4-26-2024 a female called from a business on Elida Ave stating that a male was harassing her for money in the parking lot.

On 4-26-2024 an employee called from a business on Elida Rd, stating that a male customer was causing a disturbance.

On 4-27-2024 officers were sent to the 24000 block of W. Lincoln Highway for a disturbance. Officers arrived and found that a female was arguing with another female who was an unwanted guest.

On 4-28-2024 officers were asked to check the well being of a male after a female stated that he made statements of possibly harming himself. Officers located the male and found that the comments were taken out of context.

On 4-29-2024 officers were dispatched to the 600 block of N. Pierce St, for an altercation. Upon arrival officers located two male’s who had been in a physical altercation, and each had minor injuries.

On 4-29-2024 officers were sent to a residence on N. Scott to investigate the discovery a deceased female.

On 4-29-2024 a male called the police department to report that his ex-wife was threatening to damage a business that he owns in Delphos.

On 4-29-2024 officers spoke with a female who stated she was the victim of a scam and lost five hundred dollars.

On 4-29-2024 officers were sent to the 900 block of Superior St, for a Domestic Disturbance.
