WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) – A downtown Wapakoneta park was filled with creativity and community spirit during the second annual Art in the Park.

The event was hosted by the Riverside Art Center and In Ohio County Today. More than 30 vendors set up in Heritage Park to showcase their talents in woodworking, painting, jewelry, and other art forms. Children also had the opportunity to create their own works of art. Organizers say the Wapakoneta community is not only supporting local artists, but also those traveling in from other counties and states to share their passion and work.

Second annual Art in the Park brings artists and the Wapakoneta community together

“Oh, the community is 100% here. You know, this year we had people traveling from Bowling Green, Indiana. We had a couple in Kentucky. So, you know, it's bringing a whole variety of people, not just our people within our community, but what we find is our community really steps in and helps out. And these artists work really hard all year long, and they need platforms to promote themselves and their craft. So this is why we, you know, bring it outside to give them more visibility,” says Deb Fischer, Riverside Art Center.

Organizers plan to continue making Art in the Park bigger and better each year.
