This is the 125th class for Bluffton University.

During the opening convocation, the University of Findlay's chair of the English department, Dr. Sarah Fedirka, talked to the Beavers about "becoming rooted." She says college is an act of letting go. Sometimes that means letting go of their old selves and old lives and finding root in new experiences, new communities, and new opportunities.

"I think students are excited to come to college, and I think it is a great opportunity for them to explore and discover and to find some new aspect of themselves. They are not only learning new content but hopefully learning something more about themselves," says Dr. Sarah Fedirka, Associate Professor and Chair of the English department at the University of Findlay.

"Excitement is in the air. Students get to learn all kinds of exciting new things, experience our campus, our culture. They get to know each other. There is just so many opportunities at the start of a new academic year," says Dr. Jane Wood, President of Bluffton University.
