Perry Elementary Family Group held a Christmas party for students that have lost a loved one.
The party was geared to help students who have lost a parent or sibling by surrounding them with support as well as peers to turn to if they are struggling.
Food, activities, and special games were held during the party.
"All of these kids, we also have their parents volunteering, they all understand what it feels like going into the holiday season with joy for the holiday, but also grief that they have this loss," said Mary Iiames, a Perry School Counselor. "Everyone understands and having people around you to support you and understand what you are going through is really important this time of year."
