The City of Lima’s Human Resources Department and the Civil Service Board are teaming up to help get people to fill some needed positions.

They will be holding two workshops on July 26th at the Lima Public Library to focus on what it takes to get a civil service position in the city. During the workshop, they will be talking about open positions in the city. Plus, they will also discuss test-taking and how to prepare for the test which officials believe is a barrier for people applying for city jobs.

“I know that people are interested in government jobs,” says Della Bradford Lima’s Human Resources Director. “But of course, sometimes they look at it as a tedious task or something they are just not familiar with. So that can be a barrier for recruitment and employment, so we want to make sure we are eliminating all barriers for our community to come out and apply for our positions.”
Again, the workshops for civic service positions will be on July 26th at the Lima Public Library located at 650 West Market Street. There will be two sessions that day, one starting at 11 a.m., the other at 3 p.m. Each session is about an hour long. You do not need to register beforehand, you just have to show up at either one of those times.
