The City of Lima says if plow trucks can’t make it down your street they won’t plow.

With the large amount of snow that is approaching, public works officials want residents to park their cars on the odd house number side of the street tonight in preparation. Plows will be hitting the roads as soon as the snow falls and probably won’t get to residential streets until the early morning hours tomorrow.

Lima Public Works Deputy Director Streets Division Warren Roach adds, “When they park on one side of the street. It’s so much better. It doesn’t take us as long. We don’t have to spend as much time plowing and we can just get through there. If a driver comes and it looks like he can’t get through we’re not going to go down your street.”

The snow emergency parking is in effect until further notice. You are asked to get your vehicles off the roadways if possible. If not, park on the odd address side of the street on the odd-numbered days and then park on the even addressed side of the street on even number days. This will speed up the time it will take to get the roadways cleared.
